BUDMOUTH D whitewashed Colliton C 5-0 to clinch the Weymouth & District League’s Handicap Cup at the Frank Reynolds Institute.

The youngsters from Budmouth have improved since the beginning of the season so the handicaps were heavily in their favour going into the final.

Will Jolliffe had a three-point advantage for his match against Colliton’s Peter Loakes, but he ran out the winner without needing the handicap, taking it 21-16, 21-10.

The next encounter saw Ethan Gear beat Katherine Bundy 21-15, 21-9 without needing his two-point handicap.

Snighda Maganti then took on Andy Ray and, after winning the first leg 21-5, the former needed her nine-point start to take the second 21-15.

The writing was on the wall for Colliton at 3-0 down and their woe was complete when Jolliffe saw off Bundy 21-14, 21-12 and Gear overcame Ray 21-11, 21-15.
