SCOTTY Stallman, 12, demonstrated that he is a Masterblaster by winning the competition held at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA).

The Wey Valley School pupil took an impressive 23 bullets out of the 30 races held over the two days in the Masterblaster Fleet.

He said afterwards: “It was brilliant, the sun shone for most of the event but the wind was fantastic and I really enjoyed the whole weekend.”

He was introduced to windsurfing three years ago through the Will Mackaness Trust and loved it, developing his skills at the Official Test Centre and he now has his own kit.

He added: “I love the freedom on the water that windsurfing gives me, the fact that there is always a challenge in either the weather or the type of kit.”

His favourite venue is the WPNSA but more recently, he has started wave sailing so also visits Overcombe, Kimmeridge and Ringstead.

Stallman is a dedicated windsurfer and has already showed a formidable talent, he will definitely be one we will hear more about in the future.
