BEAMINSTER v DORCHESTER II

DEAN Hyett and Indy Nayakarra have both been called into the Beaminster starting line-up for the clash with Dorchester Seconds at the Memorial Field tomorrow (1.30pm).

While Hyett replaces Chris Lamb behind the stumps for the County Division Two fixture, Nayakarra comes in for Dave Percy.

Beaminster secured a first win of the season against Stalbridge Seconds last time out with team manager Ross Baker scoring 80 not out.

Their opponents haven’t fared too well so far, losing two of their three games and seeing the other one cancelled.

“We’ve played them quite a few times in the last couple of seasons,” said Baker. “Like a typical second team, you’re never quite sure what you’re going to get.

“We’ve always had good battles with them and hopefully we can carry on from last weekend.

“There are still a lot of areas where we can improve and we were glad to get over the line against Stal-bridge.

“We need to be more consistent in the field. We dropped a few catches last time and have to keep our intensity up when fielding.”

He added: “We’re up to fourth in the table and want to build on that, and tomorrow is a good opportunity to get a victory at home under our belts.”

Beaminster Seconds go to Blandford Thirds in Division Six and Bridport will bid to follow up a win over Pimperne with another victory when they visit Wareham in Division Three.
