THE second week of the Go Spike Beach League attracted 50 players from experts to complete beginners.

In the A Series, Dave James and Rob Odsterczyl kept up their winning start to the league.

They won the final by beating veteran Terry Oldrid and Jules Stout 21-16.

Meanwhile, Stout and Oldrid defeated Ali Mitchell and Steven Williamson 15-12.

Next week will see the top A Series players competing in the May Super 8 competition where the top eight ranked players for the month compete to be king of the beach for May.

The B series saw a first season win for Mat and Laura Board, a particularly impressive victory as it is only weeks since the birth of their first child.

In the final they defeated Mark Anders and Tom Combs 21-17 The four-a-side continues to grow and this week it was won for the first time by Renegrades, while IPACA finished second.

Wey Valley were third and Battens took fourth place.

The players will be back on the beach next Tuesday and, apart from the A series, each week is an individual competition so new players are always welcome.
