WEYMOUTH have once again announced the Riviera Hotel as the club’s main sponsor for the 2014-15 season.

The partnership between the two organisations will now enter its third year, and the club believes it is one that gives them a “huge boost” in commercial sponsorship.

Director Ralph Ricardo, pictured, told Echosport: “They are a high profile sponsor for a high profile club.

“It’s lovely to have the continued support of the Riviera. They are moving forward and expanding as a business in the same way that the club is moving forward as we hope to move further up the league.

“We believe we have an understanding and a good working relationship. The Riviera chairman goes around wearing his Weymouth kit so we are happy.

“We will be looking to do more events and functions at the hotel this year, 18 months ago we did a very successful sportsman’s dinner there which raised over £5,000 for the club.

“Hopefully we can push on and do more of those in the coming season.”

On the deal, Carol Rooke, general manager of the Riviera told Echosport: “We are delighted. To me it was a no-brainer because we have sponsored the club for two years now and it has been a successful partnership all the way through.

“Our owner in Saudi Arabia agreed to the deal again because he is football mad to be honest and he was very happy to do it.

“It works well with the club and the hotel so it is good all round for both parties.”

Rooke also added that the Weymouth FC commercial team has delivered on all their promises and the hotel would encourage local businesses to support the club further.

The Terras’ board would like to give thanks to Riviera chairman Mr Abdul-Aziz Bin Mussallam for the agreement of main sponsorship once again.

The club’s Supporters Association have also donated framed home and away shirts that sit behind the reception desk at the hotel.
