DORCHESTER can complete their first league double of the campaign tomorrow when Shroton are the visitors to the county town (1pm).

However, Dorchester’s opponents are going to be out for revenge after suffering an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Dan Belt’s charges on the opening weekend of the Dorset Premier Two season.

Shroton will want to show the hosts they mean business having been dismissed for just 40 in pursuit of Dorchester’s 241 in the reverse fixture on match day one.

But after three wins on the spin, the last two coming at Dorchester Rec, Belt and his men are brimming with confidence, particularly following a comfortable victory over Martinstown in their previous outing.

“We played some good cricket last Saturday and showed that we’ve got the mentality to get things right with the bat,” said Belt.

“I was very pleased with how we executed our run chase – I thought we played it perfectly.”

Belt makes three changes for tomorrow, and two of the men missing out are players that featured prominently against Mart-instown.

Will Caldwell and Quenton Miller helped guide Dorchester home on that occasion but they, and Phil Morley, sit out this match.

Greg Holland comes in from the seconds, bowler James Dunham returns and all-rounder Matt Porter is back in.

Belt added: “Will and Quenton have been batting well, especially last Saturday when they won us the game.

“They will definitely be a big loss but we’ve got players coming in that can do the same job.”

In Division Two, Dorchester Seconds make the short trip to Portland Red Triangle, while the Reforne club’s second XI travels to Corfe Mullen Seconds in Division Four.

Jacob Coombs, 13, makes his debut after showing real potential at youth level and Triangle welcome back middle-order batsman Pete Laming.

“Losing three of our regulars to injury is a blow, but the club has many good youngsters coming through the ranks and I am sure they will step up and perform well,” said skipper Grant Neven.
