JAKE Lintott claimed five wickets on day one of Dorset’s Unicorns Counties Championship contest against Wiltshire at Corsham, as they trail by 179 runs at the close of today’s play.

Chris Park’s men toiled in the heat for a total of 75 overs, and things looked bleak when Wiltshire put on a stand of 81 for the first wicket during the first 22 overs.

But bowling later on in the piece, Lintott returned standout figures of 5-42 from his 13 overs as Wiltshire faltered.

The home side lost their final four wickets for just four runs posting a first innings total of 332.

During his impressive display, the Dorset vice captain got rid of Wiltshire skipper Mike Coles, as he looked promising on 58 before Lintott had him sharply caught by Park behind the stumps in the 52nd over, to put to an end a 119-run partnership.

In reply, Dorset have lost openers Masoor Khan and Michael Porter as well as Tom Hicks and night-watchman James Hayman.

Lintott will resume on 5 tomorrow morning with the Dorset score on 153-4, alongside Luke Webb, who has 16 to his name.
