WITH the start of the 2014/15 campaign fast approaching, pre-season training at Dorchester RFC starts on Tuesday, July 8 at Coburg Road (7pm).
The club will be running three men’s teams next season, with the first XV continuing in Southern Counties South and the seconds in Dorset & Wilts Division Two.
They are again set to play some tasty local derbies against the likes of Puddletown, Weymouth and Bridport.
Dorchester have also re-entered their third XV in Dorset & Wilts Division Four, meaning there is going to be plenty of competitive rugby for players of all abilities.
Two home pre-season fixtures, against Blandford on Friday, August 22 (7.30pm) and Ivel Barbarians on Saturday, Aug- ust 30 (3pm), have now been ann-ounced.
James Newsam continues as first-team captain with Steve Hodgson as his vice-captain, replacing Chris Miners who is recovering from injury.
Tom Evans remains as skip- per of the second XV and will benefit from the experienced Paul Broadbent as his vice-captain.
The club is looking forward to welcoming back all those that played last season as well as any players who are new to the area or who are looking for a new challenge.
A club spokesman said: “Even if you haven’t played for some time, or have never played the game and fancy getting fit, you will be guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome.”
