A SUPERB seven-under-par two-round total of 133 gave Matt Walker the Men’s Club Championship at Came Down Golf Club.
Walker, playing off scratch, shot a morning round of 66 to hold a five-shot lead from Mark Stickley who shot 71.
Defending champion Sam Roles and the ever-improving George Carroll were close behind, both shooting 73, and Simon Bailey was just one shot further back.
While the afternoon round proved tougher for most of the field, Walker extended his lead by carding 67.
Carroll bettered his morning score by two to secure second place and Stickley followed his 71 with a 75 to finish third on 146.
Captain Alex Anderson presented the trophy and prizes, and commented on both the standard of scores and the excellence of the course.
