CONTRASTING RESULTS: Dorchester and Weymouth lost and won respectively
THERE were mixed fortunes for Dorchester Town and Weymouth in their pre-season friendly fixtures this afternoon.
The Magpies were beaten 3-0 at home by Torquay United in their first warm-up game of the summer, while the Terras thrashed Guernsey 6-1 at the Bob Lucas Stadium.
Sam Lanahan and Jake Smeeton both struck the crossbar for Dorchester in the second half of their encounter with the Gulls, but goals from Aaron Downes, Louis Briscoe and Courtney Baker-Richardson won it for the visitors.
Meanwhile, Mark Ford, Tim Sills, George Rigg, Jamie Laird, Shane Krac and Chris McPhee were all on the scoresheet for Weymouth in their rout of the Channel Islands outfit.
