FORTY Dorset Pentathletes took part in the third race of the British Biathle Series held at Cheltenham Lido, with the team taking home two individual gold, three silver and five bronze medals.

The event consisted of a run, a swim, and another run with distances of 500-1,500m for the run and 50-200m for the swim – the distances varied with each age group.

The weather conditions were ideal for racing and once again the standard was very high.

This was another good result for the Dorset Pentathletes biathle team with many athletes improving their positions from the first race, and once again the team gave each other great support throughout the event.

Team coach Michael Flaherty said: “The team is looking in good shape for the season and have continued their excellent start to the British Biathle Series.

“As long as the athletes keep performing like this the team will have a few British Series winners.

“The next race in the series is the National Championships at Salford Quays, then the last race of the series will be at Greenhill Seafront, Weymouth on September 6.”
