DORCHESTER will be searching for a derby-day double tomorrow when they travel to neighbours Bere Regis (1pm).

Dan Belt’s men edged out their opponents in the reverse fixture back in June when they bowled the hosts out for just 95 on a low-scoring day at the Rec.

And while Bere Regis will be looking to exert some revenge on the county town side, ironically they did them a favour last weekend.

They defeated high-flying Mart-instown by six wickets, allowing Belt’s troops to march back to the top spot in Premier Two after they saw off Broadstone Sec-onds.

“It’s a big game for us having gone back to the top of the table last week, we just want to improve on the lead and keep going,” Belt told Echosport.

“It’s a local derby and they are coming off a terrific win last week against Martinstown.

“They will be up for beating us and we will have to be at the top of our game to make sure that doesn’t happen.

“We got bowled out cheaply last time and we bowled them out even more cheaply to win the game.”

Batsman Will Caldwell will not be available for Belt to call on this week, but it won’t stop the skipper targeting maxi- mum points with what he hopes will be a repeat level of performance from last weekend.

He added: “Being at the top at the minute is a help, if we can push on from here, two wins in the next two games would be amazing going into the six-game play-off.

“Another 20 points this week would be a big help because we need to build a lead at the top.

“Last week was probably the best overall performance we have had.

“The batsmen got us runs and the bowlers backed it up.

“This week I want exactly the same and, if we can do the basics, hopefully we can go on and win the game.”
