THE Magpies will be without captain Nathan Walker and his brother Steve for tomorrow’s trip to AFC Totton (3pm) and next Monday’s home clash against Yeovil Town.

Dorchester’s skipper and his younger sibling are unavailable for their side’s last two pre-season friendlies as the former is getting married.

However, new defender Ryan Woodford returns to the squad for tomorrow’s encounter.

The match at Totton had been in doubt because of some problems the Hampshire club were having with their pitch’s watering system.

But the issues that forced a previous friendly to be cancelled have now been sorted out.

“Totton will give us a good game,” said Simkin. “We’ll be without a few players but pretty much at full strength.”

When asked if there are likely to be any more permanent signings before the start of the season, he added: “That’s going to be it for a while I would have thought.

“With the money that has been available I’m happy with the signings we’ve made.”

Simkin confirmed that youngster Dan Munday has turned down the offer of a contract.

The Magpies’ boss understands Munday has been training with Poole Town, but said that the door was still open at the Avenue if he wanted to return.

Elsewhere, Bridport host Wincanton Town (3pm) and Portland United entertain Chickerell United (2pm).
