CAPTAIN Chris Park heaped praise on his bowling attack after Dorset completed an emphatic 10-wicket victory over hosts Wales yesterday.

The Dean Park side had only four fit bowlers for the MCCA Champ-ionship clash as Mike Kitson pulled a thigh muscle playing for Bourne-mouth on Saturday.

But Mark Wolstenholme, James Hayman, Sam Thomson and Jake Lintott were in superb form as they bowled out the hosts for 124 and 114 in the two innings.

That allowed an unbeaten knock of 22 knock from Masoor Khan to seal victory for Dorset with a day to spare.

Park said: “Mark and James were fantastic. The work they did was excellent and then Sam and Jake came good.

“We only had Mike available to us as a batsman so that heaped pressure on the four bowlers and I was delighted we managed to win.

“It was a massive team effort right from the first session on Sunday, where Mark got us off to a great start with five wickets.

“The pitch was atrocious and although it played into our hands to bat second, the ball was turning and bouncing unevenly. To fight our way to 217 on Monday morning was a massive effort.

“Luke Webb stepped up and batted more than 140 balls for his 57 which really held the innings together and people like myself, Ryan Scott and Mark played round him.

“There was a bit of pressure on the bowlers to back up a 95-run lead and they all contributed massively.”
