SOUTH Coast Equestrian’s annual show went ahead despite worries about the threat of extremely bad weather.

After a wet and windy start, the day turned out bright and breezy much to the participants’ and spectators’ delight on the day.

The event started with showing classes, followed by a variety of showjumping classes, culminating in an afternoon of highly competitive gymkhana games.

The younger participants stole the limelight by picking up the majority of trophies and rosettes on offer during the prize giving.

For the second year running, the SCE show was not only for in-house customers using South Coast horses but also open to all members of the public who brought their own steeds, providing a fun and local competition.

An organiser said: “The atmosphere from the many supporters who braved the threat of rain made the day all the more special.

“They cheered on their family and friends in true British spirit.”
