CAME Down’s Birch Cup foursomes Stableford was played in difficult windy conditions.

The winners were Karin Moore and Liz Slee with 36 points, Sue Stokey and Sue Cox took the runners-up spot with 35 points.

The Elsie Clark Trophy competition has also taken place, and once again, conditions were no better.

This competition was only for players who have qualified in earlier medals, and was played as part of the regular August Medal.

Stokey earned more success after taking the Silver Division (nett 73) with Libby Legg (74) second and Sarah Ayling (74) third.

Bronze A: 1 Joy Godwin (nett 72), 2 Sue Davies (74), 3 Mel Hooley (74).

Bronze B: 1 Pat Russell (nett 72), 2 Roma Foot (79), 3 Sally Little (84).

The winner of the Elsie Clark Trophy was Legg.

Came Down Ladies have also had a most successful season in their Interclub matches (Division A), having won five matches, halved two and lost one.

The team will now look to extend their good form when they play in the semi-final at Park-stone GC agianst Lyme Regis.
