WEYMOUTH RESERVES 5 POOLE BOROUGH 0

FREE-SCORING Weymouth Reserves added another five goals to their league total, making it 11 strikes in two games while brushing aside Poole Borough at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

The Terras virtually scored with their first attack of the contest when Jamie Beasley found Sam Nichols, who delivered an accurate cross for Sean Zima to tap home at the far post.

From there, manager Jake Rich-mond’s men never looked back and Beasley rattled the woodwork with another effort midway through the half which was cleared away.

But the midfielder was soon to be rewarded a few minutes later as he showed great technique to strike a free-kick into the net on 24 minutes.

As a contest the fixture was virtually over when Zima slotted home a penalty on the stroke of half-time to grab his second of the afternoon, which Richmond believed his side were fairly fortunate to be awarded.

“My lad went to cross the ball and their defender is only five yards from it, he couldn’t do anything about it, the ref deemed it to be handball,” the Weymouth boss said.

After the break, Conor Jevon then added his name to the list of scorers on the hour when his neat turn outfoxed his defender and he beat the Borough keeper.

Beasley then capped off his impressive display with the goal of the game.

He surged across the six-yard-box and sold the visiting defenders a scintillating dummy, allowing him to flick the ball to the opposite side of the net.

Commenting on the final strike, Richmond added: “It was such a good goal. If it hadn’t come off and the keeper got up and saved it I would have gone mad at him, but it was such a brilliant finish to wrap it up.”

On the performance, he added: “It was a good win, we didn’t perform as well as we did last week but it was a gritty win.

“We could have made it six, seven or eight, but to not play that well and win 5-0 I will take every week.

“I wouldn’t have said there was a standout performer as such but the lads did what they needed to do.”
