TERRAS’ boss Jason Matthews is relishing his side’s upcoming clash with either Bideford or Tiverton Town in the FA Cup, as the draw for the second qualifying round was made yesterday.

With the two prospective opponents set to meet in a replay this evening, Matthews insists that he does not have a preference as to who his side will meet on September 27, but was thankful for a home tie.

He told Echosport: “Although I feel it will be tough, I am very pleased to have a home draw. With the amount of away games we have got over the next few weeks it is very much welcome to have a home game.”

Bideford were meant to host the Terras in league action last month, but were unable to stage the game after a floodlight failure thwarted both sides.

Should Bideford be successful in the replay, Weymouth will face the Robins twice in the space of five days, with an upcoming league fixture between the two teams set for next Tuesday.

If Tiverton are to prevail, then Adam Kelly and Stewart Yetton are set to face their former clubs, but Ed Palmer should be suspended for his Tivvy reunion, which is also an issue that the Weymouth player-manager is looking to rectify for the cup clash.

“We will have a few out for that game because I imagine Ed will still be suspended,” he added.

“It may still be a week too early for Sam (Poole) so we will look into it and I have some irons in the fire if we need to bring someone in.”
