NEW Star and Dorothy continue to set the pace in the Weymouth Sunday League after both maintained their 100 per cent starts to the season.

Dorothy top the table by virtue of their greater goal difference following a 4-0 victory at Weatherbury.

Danny Andrews, Andrew Dix-on, Norton Rogers and Dean Williams found the net for the league leaders.

New Star made it four wins from as many matches when they beat Sailors Return 4-2.

The game was more comfortable than the scoreline suggests as two mistakes let Sailors in for a couple of late consolation goals.

Marcus Simpson started the scoring for New Star with a fine lob from 18 yards, and as the game neared half-time he notched his second from a Simon True pass.

With 20 minutes left it was 3-0 when Simpson turned provider for man of the match True.

A ball over the top from Chris Squibb saw Simpson complete his hat-trick in the 85th minute before the visitors’ Matthew Balsdon and Reece Clarke halved the deficit in the closing stages.

Famous Old Spa also preserved their unblemished record courtesy of a 9-3 rout of Market House – and the Spa’s goals weren’t exactly shared around.

Dean Taylor hit five and Leon Attree four while Michael Cole-brooke and Michael Scrivin replied for Market House. John Wilson also scored an own goal.

Like Market House, Junction Trojans remain pointless after four fixtures. The Trojans have now conceded 24 times and seven of those came against Moby Dick’s.

Luke Moorley’s hat-trick and strikes from William Mitchell, Michael O’Donovan, Craig Wells and Louis Smith secured a 7-0 victory.

The biggest winning margin was in the clash between Dolphin and Bakers Arms.

Four goals for Ricky Lane and two for Sean Gulliver, together with efforts from Mark Cheater, Charlie May and Daniel Spence, saw Dolphin romp to a 9-0 hammering of their visitors.

Finally, Alexandra, in fourth, beat Broadmayne 3-0 with Matt Warren (2) and Jack Stone on target.

Results: Alexandra 3 Broadmayne 0, Dolphin 9 Bakers Arms 0, Market House 3 Famous Old Spa 9, Moby Dick’s 7 Junction Trojans 0, New Star 4 Sailors Return 2, Weatherbury 0 Dorothy 4.
