WEYMOUTH St Paul’s Harriers ended the track season in style with some great results from the Exeter Combined Events & the Bournemouth Open competitions.
Hannah Westhenry finished third in the under-17 women’s one-day heptathlon at Exeter while Holly Anderson claimed 13th in the under-15 girls in her first pentathlon.
Veteran Pete Clarke bagged first place and earned a personal best in the 70+ men’s pentath- lon.
Several athletes took part in the Bournemouth Open, resulting in many top-three performances.
Top boy was Jules Holloway who won the highly competitive under-11 boys’ quad kids (75m, 600m, long jump and vortex throw), which was his fourth quad kids’ victory in a row.
Ben Jones continued his domination in the javelin after winning the under-13 boys’ javelin and also took second in the 100m and 200m.
Robert Hunter was second in the under-13 boys’ javelin. Adelaide Elsom took third in under-13 girls’ high jump, while Caila Kirkpatrick claimed second in the under-13 girls’ discus and finished fourth in the 200m.
Sofia Voss threw a personal best to finish fifth in the under-13 girls’ javelin, while Eve Mont-gomerie threw 8.35m to take fourth in the under-13 girls’ shot and notched ninth place in the discus.
Anderson was the club’s sole under-15 girl, and was fifth in the 300m and sixth in the long jump.
In the under-17 women, West-henry bagged first place in the 100m, was second in the 300m hurdles and fourth in the long jump.
Aiden Turner was fourth in the under-17 men’s 1,500m, while new member, Sierra Bell, took part in her first competition for the club in the Quad kids.
