BALTI HOUSE 4 BLANDFORD UTD RESERVES 1

BALTI House put Blandford to the sword for the second week running, following up their 5-2 victory in the Dorset Senior Trophy with a 4-1 success in the Dorset Senior League.

Having won comfortably in the cup, Balti were in no danger of dropping points once Grant Chance had opened the scoring for the home team after 10 minutes.

They then continued to dominate the first half with the visitors only troubling Andy Nott’s goal on rare occasions.

Karl Dean gave an accomplished man-of-the-match display at left-back and fellow defenders Josh Houghton, Sean Stewart and Jason Pearce dealt with any threat posed by the Blandford forwards.

The home team laid siege to the visitors’ goal and it came as no surprise when ex-Terra Carl McClements added a second on 20 minutes and then Chance netted a third on the half hour.

Shortly afterwards, and following a well-worked move between Ethan Devaney and McClements, Chance displayed his predatory instincts again to complete his hat-trick.

Blandford replied from a corner before the break and the second half proved to be an anti-climax with Balti unable to add to their tally.

The result maintains Balti’s unbeaten run and keeps them top of the league.

Reflecting on the game, Balti manager Marco Nott said: “I’m satisfied with the way we play- ed, particularly in the first half, and it’s always pleasing to keep an unbeaten run go- ing.

“However, next month’s fixtures have come out and we have a few tricky games lined up, so all we can do is keep playing the way we are and we should continue to be in the mix.”
