AARON Cook can take another big step towards qualifying for the Rio Olympics when he takes part in the WTF World Grand Prix in Manchester tomorrow.
Cook, 23 will be one of more than 250 athletes competing in Manchester, where he was a semi-finalist last year.
The Dorchester-born ace, a Grand Prix winner for the first time this summer, goes for gold in the -80kg category.
As well as winning in China in July, 2008 Olympian Cook successfully defended his European title in May with victory over Great Britain’s Damon Sansum.
Cook, who competes for the Isle of Man, is targeting a place in Brazil with Team GB having been overlooked for the Olympics two years ago.
