DORCHESTER kickboxer James Freegard stopped two-time British Thai Boxing champion Mo Abdurahman at the Phoenix Fight Show in Bournemouth, guaranteeing him a title shot next time out.

The Phoenix show is rated as one of the UK’s premier fight circuits with competitors from all over the country and Europe competing.

Having stopped his last two opponents with knockouts, Freegard was offered a match with Abdurahman in his quest for a major title belt, and coach Nick Bale accepted the opportunity for his fighter.

The all-action contest was intense from the start with some hard striking from both fighters.

However, the county town kickboxer’s prime conditioning and power striking came through, and he stopped his illustrious opponent in the third round for another outstanding knockout victory.

The crowd rose to their feet to applaud the men and the fight was voted the best of the night.
