TWO Dorchester fighters took to the ring at Hamworthy Labour Club in a cracking tournament hosted by Poole ABC.

First up for the county town club was Angus Dunn who took on Angus Smith from Lymp-stone.

The two lightweights started well and set a high standard in an unforgettable bout.

Dunn was on top in the first round and appeared to be heading for the win.

He was at his best in the second and it looked like he had the rugged Smith on the run.

But Smith finished the round on a high and went on to take the contest, but not without a strong, hard-hitting performance from the Dorchester youngster.

Dunn has been invited to appear in the Bridport show on Saturday, November 29.

Fraser Low, also from Dorch-ester ABC, was back in the ring at Poole for his first outing in eight months.

Lympstone opponent Dean Tribble went at Low from the first bell and it was beginning to look like it could be a quick finish.

However, Low didn’t panic, covering up and parrying blows before finishing the round by pushing Tribble against the ropes, using a combination of good hand speed and faultless footwork.

The second round saw Low coming forward more and delivering accurate shots with both hands.

His long hooks and swings consistently found the target.

Tribble picked up the momentum in the closing stages and produced an eye-catching cluster of punches. However, Low, who thrives under pressure, clinched the win with his fast punching and greater stamina.

He should be in the ring again in Swindon on Sunday.
