MAGPIES’ skipper Nathan Walker has called on his team-mates to “start believing in each other” more as they bid to arrest a worrying run of results.

Dorchester’s leaky defence has conceded 13 goals in the last three league matches, all of which ended in defeat.

Supporters have voiced their anger and frustration at the current situation, both during games and via social media, with some calling for boss Graham Kemp to be sacked.

Walker understands the supporters’ concerns and insists it is the players that are responsible for turning things around.

“Graham’s always there for us so the players have got to be there for him,” he said.

“People are saying it’s the manager’s fault but it’s down to the players to do the business.

“The players have got to stand up for themselves as well, and we need players who want to be at Dorchester.

“We’ve got a tough period coming up and it is during the really challenging times where you need to stick together the most.

“At the end of the day we’ve got to pull together and start believing in each other more.

“We’ve got to defend better and conceding the number of goals we have in the last few games is not acceptable.

“I’m a defender so I’ve got to put my hand up and say we haven’t been good enough.”

He went on to add: “I totally understand where the fans are coming from, and they have got every right to say what they want.”
