DORCHESTER will look to seal a first league double of the season tomorrow when they host Corsham at Coburg Road (2.15pm).

The county town side were narrow 9-8 winners when the sides met in October, but Martyn Peel’s men have not won in Southern Counties South since November 22.

Losses to Sherborne, Salisbury, Walcot, Wimborne and Bradford-on-Avon see Dorchester sitting eighth in the table, two places above this weekend’s opponents.

Head coach Peel said: “After the disappointment of losing narrowly at home to Wimborne, the lads were disappointed on a different level the following week when we lost at Bradford-on-Avon when perhaps we chased the game at the wrong times.

“The commitment and enthusiasm of the players cannot be faulted, but we need to be a little more practical and disciplined at critical times over 80 minutes.

“We are hoping for a large crowd tomorrow to get behind the side as we push to consolidate our position in the league.”

League leaders Swanage & Wareham should have no problems when they travel to Swin-don outfit Supermarine tomorrow.

These two teams are like chalk and cheese this term, with the Swans winning all their matches and Supermarine losing every one of theirs.

They have come in for some heavy beatings this season, none more so than the 123-0 hiding at the hands of Salisbury last time out.

After having last weekend off, Weymouth & Portland return to action tomorrow when they entertain North Dorset Thirds at Monmouth Avenue.

With the visitors propping up Dorset & Wilts Two South, Paul Harding is hoping his men can put into practice some of what they have been working on in training.

The Weymouth & Portland head coach welcomes Jake Guildford back into the fold for what should be a relatively comfortable afternoon for the hosts.

“We’ve had a really good week and will be looking to implement some of the things we’ve worked on in training during the game,” said Harding.

“You never know what players will turn up for a third XV but we are hoping to play some good rugby. I’m interested in the performance at the moment, and if we get the performance right then the result should come with it.”

Harding has reiterated his desire to build a bigger player base at the club, and there have been some encouraging signs in recent weeks.

He added: “It was good to see Ben MacConnachie back in training after being away travelling for a few years. It looks like he wants to come back and he would be a good asset for the club.

“It was the first time he had played rugby when he was with us for a few months before and he did well for the club.

“Paul Westwood has not played much rugby recently but he has also shown an interest.”

Also in Two South, Puddletown host Dorchester Seconds and Bridport go to Swanage & Wareham Seconds.

Dorchester skipper Tom Evans has put out a rallying call to his players urging them to find their form for a match that is eagerly anticipated by both sides.

In Dorset & Wilts Three South, Weymouth & Portland Seconds visit Wheatsheaf Cabin Crew (all kick-off at 2.15pm).
