STEVE Coward has been impressed by the competitive nature of the Dorset Senior League this season, as his troops head into a crunch clash at Holt United tomorrow (2pm).

Steve Churchill is likely to be unavailable for the Chickens, but apart from that, the Stalls outfit are ready and raring to rock their title rivals.

“It’s wide open now really,” he told Echosport.

“I have been in the Senior League for around five seasons now and it’s probably going to be one of the better finishes I have seen.

“The top four or five teams are all capable of beating each other which is good.”

When the sides met earlier in the season, the Chickens emerged with a 2-0 home victory thanks to a Warren White brace.

“That was probably one of our better performances if I am honest,” Coward added.

“You have to up your game against teams like Holt and be solid.

“We have players who are on form and for this league we have a very good side. We are confident that on our day we can beat them.”
