DORCHESTER Town Stars clinched the Under-13s’ Division Three league title following a 5-0 victory away at Weymouth Cougars.

The match was closely-contested and the score probably flattered the Stars a little.

In a game that was important to both sides, the Cougars showed true sporting spirit by applauding the Stars off the pitch.

In their 18-match season, the Stars won 15, drew one and lost two to complete a memorable campaign.

Meanwhile, Colin Phillips of Yeovil Accident Repair presented Dorchester Town Under-14s with new shirts before the county town side’s game against Frome at the Avenue.

The team, known as the Raiders and coached by Jon White, have just completed their season in Dorset League Division One, where they finished in a very credible mid-table position.

Phillips said: “The boys are very grateful to the management and staff at Yeovil Accident Repair for their generosity and will continue to wear the Dorchester Town badge with pride in future seasons.”
