JASON Matthews believes returning striker Tim Sills could have a massive impact on the squad’s final three league games.

Sills admitted his frustration to Echosport at having to serve a three-game ban after being sent off against Paulton Rovers last month.

And speaking about the former Torquay and Aldershot man’s influence, the Weymouth player-manager told Echosport: “I feel we have missed him and he is a big game player. He was unlucky to get sent off at Paulton.

“He is just the sort of player we want for this situation.

“He has seen it and done it, and not only once or twice, he has done it a lot of times and has taken teams into the Football League.”

Sills found the net for the Terras when they slumped to a 5-1 defeat against tomorrow's opposition Corby at Steel Park in February.

Two goals to help capture a point against relegated Burnham then followed for the experienced hitman last month, but Matthews insists there is also much more to his striker’s game.

He added: “Tim’s had his critics this year but they don’t see the Tim Sills that we see.

“He gives his all and does a lot of the nasty stuff that people do not see.

“He has been a massive asset throughout the season and I have a huge amount of respect for Tim.”
