WINGER Alec Fiddes believes the Terras can still pull a rabbit out of the hat this weekend and sneak back into the play-off places.

Despite the fact Weymouth need to win at Biggleswade Town on Saturday and hope St Neots slip to defeat against Frome to reach the top-five on the final day, the former Weston-super-Mare man remains optimistic of extending their campaign.

“There have been many more ridiculous things than what could happen on Saturday,” he told Echosport.

“We just have to do the job our end and hope that Frome do it as well.

“We played at Frome last month and it’s a really tough place to go, they get right on top of you.

“Knowing the lads, we will just be concentrating on getting the job done.

“We can’t influence anything else, we just have to do what we can.

“I think we are playing much better now and have some confidence and I think we can get the result on Saturday.”

Fiddes made his debut for the club against the Waders coming on as a second-half substitute when he switched from Weston in December.

Reflecting on when the two sides met that day, he added: “I remember it well, I signed the night before, didn’t know what to expect, but we got off to a great start.”
