THE curtain falls on another turbulent season at the Avenue tomorrow when Mark Jermyn’s Magpies look for one last hurrah against Slough Town (3pm).
Jermyn, who became Dorchester’s third manager of the campaign in January after Graham Kemp and before him Phil Simkin, is understandably hoping to end the campaign on a positive note.
“We want to go out on a high,” he told Echosport. “We don’t want to see the season peter out.
“When we look at our form, particularly in the last couple of months, it has been very good.
“I think we would be in the top 10 in the league on form during that time. We’ve had a couple of blips but I think it’s a sign of a good team that we have bounced back after losses.”
Dorchester’s chances of sending their fans away for the summer with a win appear to be good.
The Magpies have picked up seven points from their last three outings, while Slough’s recent record is two victories in 12.
However, they do go into tomorrow’s clash chasing an Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division double over Jermyn’s men following a 2-1 success at Holloways Park last December.
Skipper Jake Smeeton is set to come back into the squad after missing the Paulton triumph.
