WEYMOUTH captain Stewart Yetton believes that even if his side do not make the play-offs tomorrow the experience they have gained this season will be invaluable next term.

The Terras go to Biggleswade (3pm) knowing that three points are a must if they are to stand a chance of promotion from the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division.

Anything less and St Neots, the team currently occupying the final play-off place, can afford to lose at Frome and still finish fifth.

Yetton is disappointed at the way things have unravelled for Weymouth since Christmas, but he is determined to take the positives from a campaign that started so well.

“We haven’t got many players in the squad that are used to being in a side at the top of the league and in a promotion chase,” he said.

“I’d like to think that whatever happens tomorrow they will have learnt a great deal from this season and it stands them in good stead for next season.

“It’s Jason’s first full season as a manager and mine as captain, and I think we’ve both learnt a lot too.

“Even though we might not get into the play-offs, this experience might be one of the best for the players and the club.”

Commenting on tomorrow's final match of the season, he added: “First of all, we need to win the game to put pressure on St Neots.

“We’ve really got to hope that Frome do a job, but we’re relying on other teams now and that is because of our poor form of late.

“It’s disappointing to be in the position we are in, especially after doing so well earlier in the season.

“It would have been difficult to win the league but we certainly feel we should be home and hosed in the play-offs.

“Had we taken a few more points in any one of the games where we threw away leads then we would be okay by now.

“I think we have restored some pride in the last two games and we’ve got to do our job tomorrow.”

Left-back Jordan Copp misses the game through suspension.
