BOSS Trevor Senior is set to add former Weymouth and Dorchester wideman Jamie Beasley to his Bridport squad.

Beasley has agreed to join the Bees and will make his arrival at St Mary’s Field official when the players meet for training this evening.

Meanwhile, Sam Buckler has received international clearance to rejoin the club after two years in Australia, and Senior is hoping to have Darren Watts available for the new season.

On top of that, Senior’s son Chris should be free to play more football during the next campaign following changes to his work commitments.

The Bees chief was pleased with the turnout at the first pre-season training session on Tuesday and is happy to see positive news on the player front.

“Jamie is going to sign for us and I’m delighted with that,” he said. “He had a minor operation on his hip so it will be a few weeks before he is fully fit.

“There has been talk of him coming down, on and off, over the last few seasons and he has finally decided to give it a go.

“He can play down the middle as well as out wide and we’ve got to make sure we use him in games as he has a lot of good qualities.”

Long-term injury absentee and player-coach Ryan Dovell took part in Tuesday’s training as he looks to get back to full fitness.
