WATERSIDE 41 AUTOBITZ 24

AUTOBITZ started with only six players and this was something that Waterside took full advantage of, with Sue Stevens playing some powerful passes into her shooters who then converted.

This did not deter Autobitz’s Mel Leins however, and she scored her first goal of many right from the edge of the circle.

The seventh player arrived for Autobitz in the second quarter and this resulted in some positional changes.

Waterside had to work very hard to get their shooters in position due to faultless defending by Nicki Marsh, while a wide variety of passes were used to try and change the pace of the game in each team’s favour.

A few changes in the Autobitz line-up saw them make a strong start in the third quarter, determined to close the 10-goal lead that Waterside had built up.

Rachel Kilby worked really hard for Waterside trying to prevent passes into the Autobitz shooters.

However, Waterside took their chances in the circle and those helped them take the win.

BOHO BEARS 42 BUILDRITE 31

A VERY energetic start by both teams saw accurate passing and a goal-for-goal first quarter.

Boho managed to force errors in Buildrite’s play, which helped them pull away.

Sharp passing by Boho saw them stretch that lead despite great interceptions by Buildrite’s Jenny Ayles and Georgie Lee.

It was a very close contest but the teamwork between shooters Laura Bucke and Kelly Coombs was flawless.

They scored multiple goals and kept Boho ahead.

The third quarter continued at a very fast pace which suited both teams’ style of play.

Great interceptions in the centre of the court ensured Boho stayed in front, but Steph Clark and Rachel Lockwood scored some impressive goals to keep Buildrite in the game.

Due to injury, Buildrite had to change their formation in the closing quarter of the is entertaining game.

Boho capitalised on mistakes made by their opponents and they were able to do enough for the victory.

JD WETHERSPOONS 34 WYKE SMUGGLERS 26

ACCURATE shooting from both teams meant this was a close contest from the outset.

JD took an early lead due to great interceptions from Lyndsey Pollard and hard defending by Lauren Banks.

The second quarter saw strong play from Wyke with impressive shooting by Erin Kinghorn.

However, the JD defence were still standing strong gaining rebounds and playing the ball down the court with Sam Rees and Sharon Chick working well together.

Flawless feeding and shooting by Wyke in the fourth quarter saw them close the gap slightly but JD had already done enough to clinch the win.
