CHICKERELL United are set for an opening-day derby battle at the Stalls when they lock horns with Portland United Reserves tomorrow (3pm).
Ross Boatswain and James Hansford have made the switch to the hosts and Chickens’ chief Steve Coward is also expecting former Blues’ keeper Ian Bickerstaff to line up for his charges.
Jack Ferguson and Joel Protheroe are also likely to be back and featuring for Chickerell, as well as Matt Harvey.
Manager Coward told Echosport: “Hopefully we get a good start and it’s a tough one to get straight into.
“The Senior League is very tough and, in standard, I don’t think it is much different than the DPL anyway.”
