THE aim for Weymouth & Portland coach Paul Harding tomorrow is clear – win at Ellingham & Ringwood Seconds and then hope Eddie Jones’ England do the same against Scotland in the Six Nations.

Harding and his players will race back to Monmouth Avenue from their Dorset & Wilts Two South clash (2.15pm) to see if Jones can capture the Calcutta Cup in his first game in charge of the national team.

However, Harding’s top priority is securing a result that would take Weymouth & Portland up to second in the league table.

The seaside outfit go into the contest buoyed by a comprehensive 62-15 defeat of North Dorset Thirds last Saturday.

And while the hosts are on a poor run of form, Harding says his men will have to be at their best if they are to return with at least four points in the bank.

Speaking before the crucial clash, he said: “I have told the lads to expect a tough encounter, especially as our hosts have no first team fixture, so we could find ourselves up against a side bolstered by first team players.

“I think that our starting XV will be more or less the same as last time out with only prop Tim Comben having still to confirm his availability.”

Looking at England’s hopes under former Australia and Japan supremo Jones, Harding added: “I have studied Eddie Jones and his style of play and I expect to see a more open running game.

“He demands precision in back play and that is what enabled minnows Japan, who Jones coached, to beat the mighty South Africans in the World Cup.

“We will be leaving Ellingham as soon as we can in order to get back to Monmouth Avenue to watch the game live on television with the rest of the club members.”

Also in Two South tomorrow, Puddletown host Poole at Greenfields (2.15pm), with the Villagers likely to be full of confidence following their visitors’ colossal 99-0 thrashing against leaders Yeovil.

Meanwhile, tomorrow sees Weymouth & Portland Seconds entertain Marlborough in the Dorset & Wilts Second XV Shield.

Weymouth & Portland Thirds visit Bournemouth to compete in the Dorset & Wilts Third XV Third Cup. Both games start at 2pm.

In Dorset & Wilts Three South, Dorchester Thirds go to Bournemouth Fourths (2.15pm).

Dorchester are still waiting for their first victory of the season following 11 straight losses. They are bottom of the table, 35 points adrift of Wimborne Thirds.
