PORTLAND UNITED YOUTH 3
DRIMPTON 1
PORTLAND United Youth proved to be worthy winners of the Dorset Junior Cup final as they saw off Drimpton to lift the cup.
The Blues, who have only dropped two league points all season, took the lead in 16th minute via a penalty from Robert Maxwell after Stuart Burley had been brought down by the Drimpton goalkeeper.
Maxwell then doubled the lead on the half-hour mark with a well-placed header from a corner.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, Grant Chance scored the best goal of the game breaking infield on the left before drilling a well-placed shot into the corner of the net.
Drimpton enjoyed their best spell of the match in the final 20 minutes and with a few minutes remaining Tony Farrell reduced the arrears for the Perry Street League team.
