WEYMOUTH stand-in captain Kieron Womble is hoping the return of Dan Hutchens can propel his side to their first win in three games when they take on Wimborne & Colehill Seconds tomorrow (1.30pm).

Their opposition smashed 331-3 from 45 overs last week, but Womble thinks his bowlers can restrict their free-scoring batsman.

He said: “We need our bowlers to do the job as they look very batting-heavy.

“Dan Hutchens hasn’t played for a while but he is a very good bowler opening up and we’re hoping he can grab some wickets.

“We’ve got Dave Pearce (back in the side for Dominic Webb) and Harry Mitchell, our two spinners, so we’re hoping they play a part.

“It’s a big game for us, we know we need to win.

“We’ve played reasonably well over the last three games we just need to get over the line.

“We’re definitely competing and we’ve been unlucky. We just need one big score or a big wicket. If we can do that then we can win.”

Womble replaces Simon Browne as captain for the clash with Hutchens taking the skipper’s place.

The only other change for Weymouth is an alliterative swap as Joe James is replaced by Andy Anderson.
