HOT prospect Nick Swann has agreed terms with Dorchester Town to move to the Avenue Stadium from Hamworthy United.

The highly talented teenager, who his former Hamworthy boss, Shane Traynor, called a "special talent" trained with the Magpies last year and now has moved to progress his footballing career.

He is boss Mark Jermyn's second summer signing after Ben Wood signed from Bideford last week.

The manager is excited about the signing of the central midfielder, but insists he will not be rushed and is instead looking for consistency from the 18-year-old.

He told Echosport: "He's very much a ball player and he has a great opportunity to prove himself at a higher level.

"We want him to get a good amount of games under his belt.

"If he can get a level of consistency at this higher level then that would be great.

"I think that is the key for him. He doesn't have to set the world alight, he just has to show he can progress. That's what we are after."

"We've spoken to him about the young players that have come in and progressed and we at Dorchester are giving young players that opportunity to play.

"He now has a great chance to impress in pre-season and he has the same chance as anyone to play in the first game of the season."
