TABLE-TOPPING St George’s continued their good form to the Dorchester & District Evening Cricket League season as they beat Dewlish by 12 runs.

Rich Cole hit an unbeaten 65 and he was assisted by Rob Cole who struck 39 not out as St Georges posted a total of 133.

Justin Miller starred with the ball for Dewlish with figures of 3-18.

Despite 56 from opener Dan Belt, Dewlish lost by a narrow margin.

Gary King bowled well for the visitors taking 3-25.

The result means that the Saints hold the advantage over second placed Dewlish by two points, having also played a game less.

Elsewhere, at the bottom of Division One, Abbotsbury, who have been deducted two points for scratching a match, defeated Bere Regis by five wickets.

Meanwhile, in Division Two, Pete Moxom stole the show with a blistering knock as Dorchester beat Cerne by 102 runs.

The batsman smashed an incredible 180 not out off just 71 balls in an innings which included 19 fours and 12 sixes.

James Caldwell also contributed 39 to the total in a supporting role as the openers put on 155 together.

In reply, the visitors fell to 30-4 before a small recovery.

Moxom could not stay out of the game and took two catches in the field as the away side finished on 136-7.

Plush beat Frampton by six wickets and league leaders Puddletown beat Hazelbury Bryan by 47 runs.

Puddletown have won five out of their six opening games.

In Division Three, Charlton Down Seconds held off Winfrith by just four runs in a low-scoring thriller.

Charlton Down scored just 101-6 from their 20 overs, but the away side could only muster 97 in response. Dan Stevens was the pick of the bowlers for Down with 4-16.

Elsewhere in Division Three, Puddletown RFC eased to a five-wicket win over Cattistock Seconds and Cosmos skittled Puddletown Reserves for 94 after they had set them 118 to win.
