JAMES Tresadern admits that getting the Weymouth Wildcats back on track this summer “means the world” to himself and the group that have resurrected the club.

The former Radipole Lane side, who are still on the lookout for a home track in the Weymouth area, have been on the road throughout the season in an array of development challenge meetings across the country to boost the Cats’ profile.

And with the side still looking for their first win since their return to the shale sport, Tresadern is hopeful of a positive result with a strong quartet named to take on Exeter Falcons at Somerset tomorrow evening (9.30pm).

George Piper is set to captain the Wildcats alongside Richard Andrews, Craig Nethercott and Matt Bates. With regular team manager Jamie Dixon on holiday, co-promoters Tresadern and Martin Peters are set to take over management duties for the night.

“We have a strong looking team out and Exeter have said that it will be a tough test for them. We are looking forward to it,” Tresadern told Echosport ahead of the meeting.

“Just being back on the track means the world to us and we are getting a lot of feedback.

“To get a win under our belts would be absolutely amazing.

“The first win would just mean everything to us and we are looking forward to it. We feel we have strength in depth and we might just turn them over.”

Speaking about being involved with the club’s return to action so far, the promoter added: “I have had so much fun it is unbelievable and it can only get better, that is what we are hoping.”

The Wildcats will also be out for revenge over the Falcons having suffered a 22-14 defeat in a meeting earlier in the campaign.
