DESPITE the fog and lack of wind, four Weymouth and Portland Cruising Association boats ventured along the coast to Lulworth Cove for lunch.

Sara and David Lloyd in Cornish Lady were the first to arrive, followed by Mary, Martin and Kate in Penny Royal. Cruising chairman, John and wife Jane and spaniel Rolo sailed in soon after with Jeremy and Roger in Feanor.

While some stayed aboard for lunch, others rowed ashore for food in the pub.

After lunch, it was up anchors and back to Weymouth except for Cornish Lady who decided, that with calm forecast, they would spend the night in Lulworth and were rewarded with a fantastic sail back to Weymouth on Thursday morning.

The poor weather has deterred members from venturing too far and as a result, the Tuesday evening socials have been well attended.

Plans are now being made for the next accompanied short cruise to Worbarrow and a longer trip to Plymouth at the end of July.
