TERRAS’ striker Sam Jordan has voiced frustration over his injury concerns and believes he “can give the team so much more” in a Terras’ shirt when he is fully up to speed.

An ankle problem picked up against Exeter City in Weymouth’s first game of pre-season last month plagued the frontman’s preparation for the campaign, despite his return for the latter stages of the Terras’ friendly schedule.

The former Bradford Town goal-getter showed flashes of his well-documented finishing ability after coming off the bench to net a double and help his side to a 3-1 win at Biggleswade on the opening day of the season.

But, having started and picked up another knock to the ankle against St Neots Town on Saturday, Jordan admitted he is still not close to being fully fit.

He told Echosport: “I am not 100 per cent fit at the moment.

“I am a few games and training sessions behind the other lads. To take that step up (in leagues) is hard enough as it is, but to do it when I’m not at full fitness takes a massive impact.

“Every time I seem to get a bit fitter and a bit sharper, I take a little knock and it sets me back again.

“I had a good start in the first game but these knocks are not helping.”

He added: “I feel like if I can get to 100 per cent fitness, I can give the team so much more.

“I don’t feel like I am able to give them my all at the moment and it’s disappointing because they are a great bunch of lads.

“You would think I have been here two or three seasons with the way I have settled in and everyone has been so welcoming.

“I want to get fully fit so that I can give them my all.

“When I am doing that I feel we can start winning and getting up that table.”
