THE first home game at Coburg Road for Dorchester first XV saw the official commencement of the club’s charity partnership with Weldmar Hospicecare.
Director of fundraising, Grant Usmar, trustee vice-chairman Sue Davies, and members of the fundraising team were delighted to hand over the new shorts, displaying the charity logo, to club president Frank Dike and cheer on the team to a fine 33-12 win over North Dorset.
All proceeds from programme sales on the day went to the charity, and £205 was raised.
Weldmar brought with them a display to show the work and projects they are involved in and invited those present to buy Christmas raffle tickets and support their other local events.
The Weldmar team thanked the club for the partnership and hoped for much success for the all the club’s sides from senior, ladies and junior section.
