TERRAS’ boss Jason Matthews has struck a double deal in the loan market ahead of tomorrow's game at Kettering Town (3pm).

The Weymouth player-manager has secured the services of former Dorchester Town man Bradley Tarbuck, as well as experienced frontman Stuart Fleetwood, both on one-month loan deals.

Former Portsmouth youngster Tarbuck joins up with the Weymouth squad from Havant & Waterlooville, while Fleetwood comes in from Bath City.

Tarbuck, who claimed he “enjoyed every moment” with Dorchester Town in an interview with Echosport back in May, now joins their Ridgeway rivals and reunites with former team-mate Charlie Davis.

Speaking about that signing, Matthews told Echosport: “It’s a big addition and, with Shep (Chris Shephard) still absent with his hamstring, I felt it was an area we probably needed a little bit more strength in.

“I really need competition for places and I don’t want people being in a position where they can just take their foot off the gas.

“Obviously Bradley gives us that added competition.

“I know he did well at Dorchester last year. He was one I kept my eye on for a few weeks, saw he wasn’t getting in Havant’s team, so I took the opportunity to give him some game time.

“I rang them a fortnight ago and they would not let him out but, now we are in a position where they will, so I am grateful to Havant for that.”

Speaking about 30-year-old Fleetwood, who has featured for the likes of Brighton, Exeter and Luton throughout his career, Matthews added: “We tried to get him last season on loan from Sutton but it didn’t quite come off.

“He comes with a lot of pedigree and has scored a lot of goals at Conference level.

“He was hungry to come in and play games and it was too good an opportunity for me to turn down.”
