A jam-packed 2017 awaits at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy with another twelve months of regional, national and international events ahead.

With the interest in sailing on the rise, there has never been better time to head along and find out what it’s all about.

The years starts with the first event of the RYA winter match racing series on 28-29 January which includes a number of domestic sailors before the RYA’s Olympic classes spring series kicks off.

This event, which runs on 4th and 5th February, is tailored to the rising talents of domestic sailing as they make the move into Olympic standard boats, so is certainly one to check out to see the next generation of sailing stars.

Both events are used as preparation for this year’s Youth National Championships which take place in the Hayling Islands between 8-14 April.

If sailing isn’t your thing, the academy is the location for other events including Bustinskin Coastal marathon which takes place on 5th February.

The route begins at the WPNSA and takes on the scenic coastal setting before leading back to the club. But if 26 miles sounds too much, don’t worry, the option is there to do the reduced 10k or half marathon routes.

However if you find that you want more of the scenic marathon route then the academy is the scene of the Jurassic Coast Challenge.

Three marathons in three days is the task afoot, with participants free to walk, jog or run the route in order to experience everything the beautiful coastline has to offer.

The venue also offers facilities for weddings, parties and meetings/seminars.
