THE Nothe Tavern hosted a night to remember with former England Test captain Graham Gooch, on an evening that also provided a financial boost for Weymouth Cricket Club.

Around 50 people turned out on the night to listen to tales from the legendary Essex batsman, who starred as a special guest speaker on the night reflecting on his 118-Test and stellar first-class career.

“It was a great night and it was really well attended,” said the owner of the Nothe Tavern, Emma Cogswell.

She added: “Graham was fantastic telling stories of his past and all the famous team-mates he has had.

“Everybody had a great time and we raised a few hundred pounds for the cricket club.

“A good night was had by all. It was good to get some new faces up at the Nothe Tavern and support the community.”
