DORCHESTER’S Paul Blake put an end to his campaign at the World ParaAthletics Championships, with a sixth-place finish in the men’s T36 100m.

Blake, who is more known for his performances over the middle distances, had no answer to those in the sprint discipline at the London Stadium.

A valiant effort by the 27-year-old with a time of 12.59 seconds was not enough to earn the Dorset star a medal.

Blake was well beaten by China’s Yifei Yang, who set a new area record with a blistering time of 11.93 seconds.

He was well ahead of Malaysian athlete Mohamad Ridzuan Mohamad Puzi in second (12.15), and bronze medallist Rodrigo Parreira Da Silva (12.28) who bagged his third medal of the Games.

Blake, who qualified as a fastest loser for the 100m final, also announced via social media that this was to be his last event of the season.
