THIRTY members of the Leweston Pentathlon Academy have been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Triathle that takes place in Viveiro, Spain in September

The athletes qualified for GB after competing at the National Triathle Championships, which was held at Leweston School.

Forty-three members of Leweston Pentathlon Academy took part in this event taking six gold, four silver and seven bronze.

The top six from each age group from this event will be selected for the Great Britain team for European Championships.

The triathle is an event that is run under the modern pentathlon, and is a continuous shoot/swim/run event each competitor performs a set distance for the run and swim, and competes in laser shooting from a set distance and must get five green lights in centre of target.

"The time, and effort of hours of training put in by the athletes each week over the last few months at the running shooting, and swimming has paid off for the triathletes on their results.

"Leweston Pentathlon Academy will have a total of 40 athletes in the triathle and biathle representing Great Britain at the European Championships which is nearly 40 per cent of the British team."
