PORTLAND Red Triangle captain Matt Randell admits his side is “pretty confident” going into their winner takes all title clash with Compton House at Reforne in County Division Two tomorrow (2pm).
Compton House currently lead the standings by five points but Portland crushed them by 137 runs in the reverse fixture, with Randell keen to “expose the depth in their batting” again.
He told Echosport: “We’re pretty confident going into it, as long as we don’t go into it over confident. It would be good to have a few people up there.
“The lads are just hoping to perform. We have struggled with the bat and we want to put that right.
“Early wickets are crucial against them. They don’t often lose early wickets and I don’t think anyone has exposed the depth in their batting this season apart from us.
“If we can get on top of them early we should restrict them.”
